This document aims to summarise the National Strategic Plan for Maternal, Newborn, Child and Women's Health (MNCWH) in South Africa and the Campaign for the Accelerated Reduction of Maternal Mortality in Africa (CARMMA).

mHealth Strategy 2015 - 2019

mHealth refers to mobile computing, medical sensor, and communications technolgies used for the delivery of health-related services and the support of medical and public health practice. Employing mobile telecommunications and multimedia technologies such as mobile phones, patient monitoring devices, PDAs, and other wireless devices, mHealth is a fast growing subset of eHealth.

Medium Term Strategic Framework (MTSF) 2014-2019

This Medium Term Strategic Framework (MTSF) is Government's strategic plan for the 2014-2019 electoral term. It reflects the commitments made in the election manifesto of the governing party, including the commitment to implement the National Development Plan (NDP). The MTSF sets out the actions Government will take and targets to be achieved. The MTSF is structured around 14 priority outcomes which cover the focus areas identified in the NDP and Government's electoral mandate.

Implementation Plan for the Antimicrobial Resistance Strategy Framework in South Africa (2014 - 2019)

This guides aims to define the principles and short- to medium-term interventions needed to preserve the effectiveness of antimicrobials for future generations and to improve the appropriate use of antibiotics in human and animal health. It further aims to improve the management of antibiotic resistant organisms and to prevent their transmission and to create an enabling environment for the successful and sustainable implementation of the strategic objective.

Handbook for District Clinical Specialist Teams (DCST)

The handbook serves as a useful reference for provincial specialists; provincial DCST coordinators; Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Women's Health (MNCWH) managers at provincial and district level; and broader district management teams (DMTs). The handbook can also be used as a quick induction tool for new members of the DCST who join the team after the completion of the formal induction and training.

COVID-19 National Public Hygiene Strategy and Implementation Plan - July 2020

The National Public Hygiene Strategy and implementation Plan set out a comprehensive approach to the delivery of public hygiene measures for public infections containment and mitigation of the COVID-19 epidemic and beyond. The strategy outlines public hygiene mitigation interventions necessary to delay, reduce and curb the spread of COVID-19 in South Africa, and outlines roles and responsibilities of various sectors. The development of the new strategy was led by the Ministerial Advisory Committee (MAC) on eHealth, which is chaired by Director-General, Ms MP Matsoso.
