Leprosy Training Webinar
Objectives:
1. Education and Information Dissemination.
To educate the primary healthcare professionals and to an extend, the public about leprosy, its symptoms, modes of transmission, and the fact that it is curable with early diagnosis and treatment. This helps in dispelling myths and misconceptions about the disease.
2. Early Detection and Treatment.
Encouraging early detection through awareness can lead to timely treatment, significantly reducing the disease's physical impact, including disabilities and deformities.
3. Reducing Stigma and Discrimination.
One of the major challenges faced by people affected by leprosy is social stigma and discrimination. Awareness campaigns aim to change societal attitudes and behaviors towards affected individuals, promoting inclusivity and support.
